A catheter is inserted through a vein in the groin or neck (jugular).
Venous angiography is performed to visualize the stenosis and measure the pressure gradient.
Pressure is measured before and after the stenosis to confirm a significant gradient (usually > 8 mmHg).
A self-expanding stent is placed across the narrowed segment to open the sinus.
Venous outflow improves and the pressure gradient is significantly reduced.
Normal venous drainage is re-established, reducing pressure and relieving symptoms.
